Flowboard Review

Friday December 3, 2004
The Flowboard is a large skateboard-style deck with two unique trucks that each hold seven wheels fixed in an arch. The result is a skateboard that turns and flows in a different way than more traditional pin trucks with two wheels each. In fact, the feeling is so odd that you really have to try it to understand the difference. Of all the alternative skateboards that I've used, the Flowboard might be the best at re-creating the feeling of snowboarding on pavement. Read the review for more.

just wondering if you have ever tried a freebord. I have one and love it, it feels just like snowboarding because you can carve AND slide like a snowboard (www.freebord.com) I have never ridden a flowboard, but i would definately like to try one out sometime

Hey Scott! I haven’t ever ridden one - I saw one at an REI many years ago, and rode it around a little in the store, but that’s about it… They were pretty spendy, but again, that was quite a while ago!

What size do you recommend to start with? 32 or 42?

I have an 8yr. old boy that would really like one of these. I was worried that he would only be able to use this on big hills and not on flat pavement. I watched several videos however they did not show anyone pushing off with a foot or going on flat street. We live in Texas so there are not very many hills.
